It takes its name from the horn-shaped land formation that forms the easternmost point of the African continent, projecting into the Indian Ocean south of the Arabian Peninsula. The following countries form the Horn of Africa; Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. There are also broader definitions which include all the countries mentioned above, as well as parts or all of Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda.
