    Every University has its criteria to be met before holding a position as a student. Some of these criteria include;
    1. Having no bad records when it comes to behavior-wise.
    2. Being able to attain a certain/having a certain mark of GPA/CWA.
    3. Being a member or affiliate of where you want to hold that position (Member of a Hall etc)
    4. Having gone through all vetting and document checking.
    These are among a few criteria to meet before one can hold a position in the university as a student.

    In every tertiary institution, executives of the halls are voted on. Students vie for the various portfolios, go through vetting, and are voted on. Not all positions demand voting. Some other executive positions don't require voting but rather through appointment.

    1. Commitment to your studies

    2. Your current CGPA should be of the university’s or college’s approved CGPA for students who want to be leaders.

    3. Your oratory  or public speaking skills

    4. Experience in other leadership position and so on.
