In most countries, the doctor of pharmacy degree is a continuous 6 years undergraduate professional degree. The six (6) years consist of a maximum of 5years purely academic studies and 1 year of hospital internship. These who apply to such universities are not required to have a previous bachelors degree in any programme at all.

However, some other countries offer it as a 3 years postgraduate degree to people who already have a Bsc in pharmacy or a very related programme.
Also, in some other countries you require to have taken either a two (2) year pre-pharmacy course followed by four (4) years professional pharmacy programme in order to obtain the doctor of pharmacy degree which will still sum up to 6years in total.
Thus the average duration for the study of the doctor of pharmacy degree across the world is six (6) years.
